Depression

Depression is a disorder that affects every part of a person's life. It has a detrimental impact on one's work, family and social relationships, and relationship with God. The spirit is broken, and often the person feels worthless and guilt-ridden for no reason. The individual may have trouble sleeping, experience appetite changes, and feel that they have little energy or motivation.
The good news is that there are therapies that can help. Research has shown that the combination of medication and "talking therapy" are the most effective treatment for people suffering from major depression. Mild to moderate depression can often be treated by counseling alone.
If you feel depressed, contact a healthcare professional; he or she will be able to evaluate the severity of your depression and determine the appropriate treatment for you.
